Christie joined Holland Beckett in April 2016. She leads Holland Beckett’s family law team.
She also works in the litigation team, specialising in employment law.
In the Family Team, Christie specialises in advising on relationship property matters, including advising on structuring arrangements and contracting out agreements, as well as division of relationship property upon separation or death. Her particular interest is advising complex matters, involving companies and trusts.
In the Litigation Team, Christie specialises in employment law. She advises employer and employee clients on all employment related matters from structuring relationships, policy drafting, restructurings, sale and purchase of business/shares, and dealing with disputes, including personal grievance claims.
Prior to joining Holland Beckett, Christie worked as a senior associate at pwc Australia, based in Sydney. As a lawyer in a global professional services firm, Christie worked with large corporate clients and high net worth individuals, alongside their professional advisors. She had a special interest in employment issues arising for globally mobile employees, employer compliance and documentation, taxation and superannuation issues, contractor documentation and deemed employee claims, restructuring and redundancies, exit arrangements and resolving employment disputes.
Before moving to Sydney, Christie worked at Buddle Findlay in its litigation team in Auckland, specialising in employment law, but also advising on KiwiSaver and relationship property.
Christie started practice at Tompkins Wake in Hamilton, working for seven years in the litigation team, specialising in family, employment law and civil litigation.
