Jessica is employed in the Employment, Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team.

Jessica gained her legal qualifications in Australia and worked in Melbourne for six years at a large, commercial legal firm before relocating to New Zealand. Jessica represented WorkSafe Victoria, insurers and employers in litigation relating to statutory and contractual interpretation, negligence claims, insurance coverage and general liability issues.

Jessica specialises in Health and Safety having gained experience working with Australia’s Occupational Health and Safety Laws and has a particular interest in working with employers to improve risk management practices and to limit potential liability. Her experience includes defending prosecutions brought by WorkSafe, providing advice and support throughout investigation processes, incident response management, reviews of health and safety management systems and training delivery.

Jessica represents her clients in conferences, conciliations and mediations and appears in the Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court and in the District Court as defence counsel on WorkSafe prosecutions.

In conjunction with her employment practice, Jessica is involved civil litigation and dispute resolution on a variety of matters for both commercial clients and private individuals. She has extensive experience in all aspects of trial preparation and appears in the District and High Courts.
